Getting Started with NOPE

Set up spam filtering for your Shopify store in 2 minutes


NOPE intelligently filters spam from your Shopify contact forms, blocking crypto scams, marketing pitches, and phishing attempts while keeping legitimate customer messages in your inbox.

📋 Theme Compatibility

NOPE requires an Online Store 2.0 compatible theme. Most modern Shopify themes support this. If you're using an older vintage theme, you'll need to upgrade your theme first.

Follow these steps to get started:

1 Find the App

After installing NOPE from the Shopify App Store, you can find it under Apps in your store's admin dashboard.

Since the app is newly installed, no messages will be shown yet.

2 Disable Shopify's Spam Protection

⚠️ Critical Step

You must disable Shopify's built-in spam protection, or it will interfere with NOPE's functionality and always present CAPTCHAs to your customers.

  1. In your Shopify admin, navigate to Online Store → Preferences
  2. Scroll down to the Spam protection section
  3. Uncheck "Enable on contact and comment forms"
  4. Click Save

3 Add NOPE to Your Contact Page

  1. In the Online Store section, select Themes
  2. Click Customize for your current theme
  3. From the dropdown menu at the top, select Pages → Contact
  4. Click Add section, switch to the Apps tab, and select Nope Contact Form
  5. Customize the NOPE form to match the look of your store's standard contact form
  6. Remove the original contact form section
  7. Click Save
